"Shadows Under the Market" Seeks Teen Performers

About the Show Strange, mysterious entities have always lurked below the streets of Pike Place Market, but they usually keep to the shadows, just out of sight…until now. Something is causing the malevolent energy to spiral out of control, and it’s up to a ragtag group of teen summer employees to stop it. On top of that, the bumbling paranormal agency sent to eradicate the problem only keeps making things worse! They’ll need to figure out how to deal with these dark apparitions (and each other) before the Market is swallowed in shadows forever. A new original horror comedy anthology was written for actors ages 14-18, with short plays by local playwrights Kelleen Conway Blanchard, Maggie Lee, Darian Lindle, Matt Smith, and M. Yichao. Older sibling to Finch. Awkward, anxious, introvert. Tries to be a good role model for Finch, but also a little jealous of their carefree demeanor. Has trouble making decisions or being assertive, but very intuitive and empathetic.
Classmate of Aspen and Kira. Good natured and friendly, they are not the sharpest tool in the shed but still manages to drop profound truth bombs once in a while. They work multiple jobs and always has a positive, easygoing attitude, but it’s beginning to wear them down, making them vulnerable to certain dark forces.
Younger sibling to Aspen. Outgoing, confident, not afraid to get scrappy. Quirky in a way that makes them cool as an outsider. Often ends up being Aspen’s protector, which is not always welcomed. Very smart but their impulsive hot-headed behavior doesn’t translate well to being a team player.
An eccentric loner kid, classmate of Finch. Always has headphones on, listening to paranormal podcasts, giving them extensive knowledge of strange phenomena. Sullen and unfriendly, has walls up and likes it that way.
Former best friend to Aspen. It was a messy “friend breakup” as Kira joined a different social circle and they haven’t spoken in months, so working together for the summer is awkward. A take-charge leader personality, relentlessly optimistic, and always follows the rules.
The leader of a mysterious paranormal government agency team. Precise, by the book, unyielding, always focused on kill/capture solutions rather than peaceful compromises. They can’t afford any distractions from the mission.
2nd in command for the team of agents. Came up through the ranks with Agent Phillips and very loyal but has some misgivings about their harsh methods.
Tech specialist for the team of agents. Likes to nerd out about their gadgets and gizmos, but not so great with people skills. Maybe a little bit strange.
Musicians or spoken word performers. They appear to be regular street musicians you might see at Pike Place Market, but their songs have a strange, eerie foreshadowing effect. Singing or playing a musical instrument is a plus. Also possibly an opportunity for music composers.
