A vibrant, curious, and spirited Jewish teenager. Intelligent, imaginative, and often outspoken, Anne matures emotionally and intellectually throughout the play. She documents life in hiding with honesty, humor, and hope.
Anne’s older sister. Quiet, studious, obedient, and graceful — often seen as the “perfect” daughter. She has a close bond with her mother and maintains a calm, gentle presence.
The Van Daans’ shy and awkward son. He grows more confident over time and forms a tender, hesitant romance with Anne. Quiet, sensitive, and emotionally reserved.
