Kid Performers Needed for "The New Teacher" Stage Play
Looking to cast performers ages 8-13 years old for "The New Teacher" Stage Play. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: The New Teacher is a fresh comedic play with new and original music. Jesse Jr. and Melissa along with the rest of their Pinewood Park peers are returning to school from the summer, with a mutual agreement of what school means to them and what kind of “perfect” teacher they would love to have. Plans are derailed when the “No Nonsense” Principal introduces his plans for the new school year. "The New Teacher" is fast-paced and entertaining, while also shining light on the meaning of “Organically Good Teachers”. Teachers do not receive enough credit for their impact on students and families. Hence, the creation of this show, to bring a fun fictional story to the stage. Good student. Works hard and wants to do well in school. Does not agree with his fellow classmates and the clowning around they do. He lives in the moment of now and is oblivious to others feelings towards him. Jesse Jr. really enjoys school and wants to do well in the classroom, which is why he recognizes that Mr(s). Phillips is a great teacher that will benefit himself and the rest of his class to grow and become intelligent humans.
Trouble maker/instigator. Doesn’t take much seriously. Uses humor to hide her true feelings and does not like being vulnerable or opening up. She has a crush on Jesse Jr. but doesn’t want anyone to know. Melissa is very smart and intelligent, and is probably one of the top students in her grade. Although she is still immature and has a lot of room to grow.
“Skinny” is his nickname. His real name is Thaddeus. Skinny loves food and loves to eat. This is something he looks forward to.
He doesn’t seem to know himself. He does not really know what he wants and will do things to be liked. He does what the majority of his classmates do and will go with the popular vote. Geraldo “flip flops.” He likes attention and will do anything to have “friends”.
He really goes all in when it comes to Melissa’s tricks. He's the class clown because he is extra silly and loud.
Jill loves being apart of Melissa's “clique”.
Doesn't have positive things to say about class assignments and will do whatever Melissa wants her to do in order to stay in the “clique.”
