Kid Actors Needed for "Spaghetti Western Play
Actors ages 13 and up are welcome to audition for the "Spaghetti Western" Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Grannie Smith and her charming but clumsy granddaughter, Petunia Pearl, run the Hoot ‘n’ Holler Hotel. Sadly, they’re behind on the mortgage, and even Sheriff Kirk Ketchum and his self-appointed deputy, Hal Holdem, can’t seem to stop dastardly villain Duke Dreadful from swooping in and buying up the place. So when world-traveling Bonnie Voyage returns from a trip to Italy and suggests a spaghetti sauce contest with enough prize money to pay the mortgage, Grannie and Petunia enter to save their beloved hotel. But Duke will stop at nothing to get what he wants, which includes the hand of Petunia, and enlists the help of accomplice Saucy Sally to cheat his way to victory. Additional info: Each auditioner should prepare one comedic monologue of their choice that is roughly 60 seconds long. Since improv is vital to this dinner theatre, improv exercises will also be involved in this audition. Cold reads are also a possibility. Come ready to have fun! This show is campy and over the top and meant to be a fun community & family affair. REHEARSAL LOCATION AND SCHEDULE: There will be four rehearsals, mostly held on Friday evenings, 6 to 9 pm at First Presbyterian Church of Richardson. Tech Week runs from June 8th through June 11th. Since there are very few rehearsals, participants must have their lines memorized by the second rehearsal, June 30th. We will arrange a time for scripts to be picked up before rehearsals start. Note that the participation fee will be applied. Please see the attachment for details. If interested, please apply.
