About the project: When young Alice finds herself in a strange world where everything seems upside down, she must find her way home…and find herself along the way. As she travels through Wonderland, she encounters all of the iconic characters that audiences have come to love: including the ever-tardy White Rabbit, the grinning Cheshire Cat, a cool Caterpillar, the wacky Mad Hatter, and the hot-tempered Queen of Hearts. Alice in Wonderland JR. features Disney favorites such as “The Golden Afternoon,” “The Unbirthday Song,” and “Painting the Roses Red” along with brand-new songs, including music from the 2010 live-action film. Additional info: Auditionees should prepare 16 to 24 bars of a song. Each auditionee must bring 2 copies of sheet music. Sheet Music: All singers must bring 2 printed copies of the sheet music for their audition piece. It is crucial that the music you bring is in a key that works for your voice and is well-suited for a pianist to accompany. A well-prepared arrangement will allow the accompanist to provide the best support during your audition. Style of audition piece – Pick a song or piece that you enjoy, that fits your vocal or instrumental range, and that suits the style of the audition. No “a cappella” auditions (auditions without accompaniment) will be heard. Do NOT choose a song from the show. Auditionees should bring their calendars. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be available at the auditions, and actors will be asked to list all conflicts with the rehearsal schedule. The director will attempt to work around conflicts, whenever possible. Actors with conflicts with mandatory rehearsals or performances will not be seen.
