Racine, WI, United States
ID: 584016Exp: 5/17/2025
Description:

"The Drowsy Chaperone" Show is looking for teens ages 16 and up. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Dust off your favorite record, place a needle in a groove, and settle into your cozy armchair as you’re transported to the world of an imaginary 1928 musical, "The Drowsy Chaperone." It’s a trip down one obsessed fan’s memories of all things Golden Age musical. His small, dingy apartment transforms into the setting for a big, extravagant wedding, packed with mistaken identities, larger-than-life characters, madcap hijinks, and flashy dance numbers on the way to the altar. Winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Book and Best Original Score, it’s a toe tapping tribute to the love of musical theatre. Additional info: Please bring a sheet music, and sing a prepared song (32 bar cut in the style of the show) for the audition. An accompanist will be provided and tape recordings or unaccompanied singing are not permitted. You will also be shown choreography and perform a dance audition. Auditions also consist of a cold reading from the script. Rehearsals will begin in May. RTG works to try to coordinate everyone’s schedules and respect people’s time, so typically, not everyone is called to every rehearsal. Most often, rehearsals will be Monday – Thursday starting at 6:30 p.m., with some weekends too.
