Singing Opportunities for Teens in "Shrek The Musical"

Ages 13-18 years old are welcome to audition for "Shrek The Musical". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: "Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek...." And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand... and his name is Shrek. Additional info: The characters in "Shrek" require strong vocalists and dancers and excellent acting skills. Students do not need past experience in any of these areas, but a bold audition and courage to take risks will help them to portray the characters coming to life on stage. Rehearsals will begin on June 9. Rehearsals will be held Monday- Thursday and Saturday. No rehearsal will be held on July 3-5 in observance of Independence Day. Not every character will be called for every rehearsal, though central characters will attend almost every rehearsal. The number of rehearsals you attend depends on your role. "Shrek" performs at The Courtyard Theater in downtown Plano July 18-27, 2025. Each weekend, there is one Friday performance at 7:30, one Saturday performance at 7:30, and one Sunday performance at 2:30. There is no tuition associated with the show but the registration fee will be applied. If interested, please apply.
