Seeking Teens for Green Day's "American Idiot"

Performers in 9th grade and up are welcome to audition for Green Day’s "American Idiot". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Johnny, Tunny and Will struggle to find meaning in a post-9/11 world. When the three disgruntled friends flee the constraints of their hometown for the thrills of city life, their paths are quickly estranged when Tunny enters the armed forces, Will is called back home to attend to familial responsibilities, and Johnny’s attention becomes divided by a seductive love interest and a hazardous new friendship. An energy-fueled rock opera, American Idiot features little dialogue and instead relies on the lyrics from Green Day’s groundbreaking albums to execute the storyline.​ Additional info: Please prepare: 1) 32 bars of a character-driven song, in the style of the show (rock n roll), and bring sheet music in a binder for our accompanist. 2) The choreographed dance. A video will be provided 2 weeks before the auditions. Once you complete registration, you will receive an email (be sure to check spam) with more information. Due to the content of the show, all auditioners under the age of 18 must have parental permission to participate via a signed waiver. Parents or guardians must accompany their student to auditions at their scheduled time and sign the waiver before their student will be allowed to audition. Directors realize this may be an inconvenience, but it is essential to ensure the safety of each participant. Callbacks: April 16th (You will be notified via email and/or text message if you are needed for a callback) Family Meeting: April 22, 2025. All participants should attend as well as parents of any participants under 18.
