Seeking Kids for "Tuck Everlasting" and "Honk Jr."
Looking for kids ages 7 and up for "Tuck Everlasting" and ages 7-14 years old for the "Honk Jr." Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: For "Honk Jr.": For the Junior production, please prepare one minute of a musical theatre or your favorite song that you feel best shows off your talents. A Bluetooth and/or speaker system will be available if you would like to bring an accompaniment (a track with no vocals) or you can sing acapella. For "Tuck Everlasting": For the community production, please prepare about 1 minute of a contemporary musical theatre song in similar style to the show. You must bring an accompaniment (no vocals) track to the audition. An accompanist will NOT be available. Your audition song selection should not be from Tuck Everlasting. Some examples of shows with suitable song selections are: Hadestown, Bright Star, Anne of Green Gables, Anastasia, Big Fish, Catch Me If You Can, Parade, Bonnie and Clyde, Matilda, Waitress, The Little Mermaid, though there are many others. All actors will also be asked to participate in a dance audition. You may wish to bring a change of clothes/shoes to dance in. Dance call videos will be available a week before the audition date for those who want to prepare in advance. Rehearsals will begin May 15 with a read-through. Starting July 7, all rehearsals will be mandatory for performers. Show dates are July 17-20 for the full show and July 25 - 27 for the Jr. Production. The audition materials are attached. Innocent, easily confused and very impressionable, Ugly doesn't understand why it is wrong being different. He is the heart and soul of the show.
Ugly's mom. Ida is extremely protective of her son and committed to his safety.
Ida's husband. Drake is a sarcastic character. He is the stereotypical sitcom father - often shirking his parental duties.
They are among the "popular" ones in the duck yard who enjoy making Ugly feel left out. They sing as a group.
A moorhen and Ida's best friend. Maureen genuinely loves Ida, but she can't resist a bit of good gossip. To the little ducklings, she is the typical annoying and overly affectionate "aunt."
The sly, cunning villain of the show. All of the other animals are deathly afraid of him. He is manipulative, cunning, witty and above all, HUNGRY.
The headmaster of the ducklings' school.
A hen and another of Maureen's friends. Henrietta and Maureen gossip about the goings on in the duck yard.
A somewhat pompous goose and washed-up British military type, Greylag tends to over glorify his mundane activities (i.e. migrating South) to the level of military operation status.
A motherly type, she is genuinely concerned with helping Ugly find his mother.

The most distinguished duck on the lake. Very aristocratic, she is considered the queen of the duck yard.
A laid back, self confident frog with whom Ugly comes into contact in the second half of the show.
The young, beautiful swan that Ugly saves from a tangled fishing net. She is able to see beyond Ugly's looks and she loves him for who he is.

An investigative reporter. A very "in your face" bird, all she/he cares about is getting a good story. She/He reports a story about Ugly's disappearance.
The only humans in the show. They are never seen by the audience, only their voices are heard. There is also a “Boy” voice and a “Girl” voice.
Soprano (A3-E5) Winnie is an 11-year-old girl from Treegap, New Hampshire whom the story centers upon. Growing up in a strict household, she longs to discover the world beyond her own backyard and ends up going on the adventure of a lifetime when she meets Jesse and the rest of the Tuck family.
Tenor (F3-C5) Jesse is the youngest and most optimistic of the Tuck family at 17. He quickly becomes friends with Winnie, attempting to show her how life can be filled with fun forever.
Tenor (G3-C5) Hugo is a 15-year-old self-starter who assists Joe with the very few investigations that arise in Treegap.
