About the project: In this sweeping musical adaptation of The Prince of Egypt, audiences follow Moses—a young man raised in opulence within an Egyptian palace—who discovers his true Hebrew heritage and a divine calling to lead his people to freedom. The journey unfolds amid the grandeur of ancient Egypt and the stark challenges of destiny, as Moses struggles with his identity and the weight of his newfound mission, while figures like Rameses, Tzipporah, and Miriam embody the themes of loyalty, love, and relentless hope. Additional info: During the audition process, everyone will read the provided sides attached and sing 1 minute of a prepared song. Dramatic/Speaking Audition: At the audition, you will need to select and perform a monologue provided for the audition. You may identify which character(s) you are auditioning for. You do NOT have to memorize the lines. If you choose not to practice ahead of time, monologues will be provided at the audition to practice. Movement/Dance Audition: This will be only for select auditioners and will be a part of the callback process. Vocal Audition: Everyone will need to prepare 16-32 bars of any song to sing. This could be a musical theater piece in the style of the show. Directors are looking for stage presence, vocal tone, emotion, and range. They will not provide music accompaniment but you may bring your own track to play on your phone. While it is not required, it would be beneficial to memorize the piece. Rehearsals will begin April 28 and continue until the week of the production, June 20-21. Practices will take place at Trinity Church on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm and Saturdays 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. Tech week is June 16th-19th. See the attachment for details. His father expects a great deal from him as the future Pharaoh, and Ramses is wracked by self-doubt. Through trials of great pain over the course of the show. Moses’s Hebrew brother. Intellectual, sardonic, skeptical, funny. Aaron has reached an accommodation with his life as a slave; he makes a joke of everything to diminish the pain. Aaron is the last Hebrew to believe in Moses; when Moses returns to Egypt and confronts Ramses, asking him to let his people go, Aaron’s skepticism is borne out when the Hebrews’ labor is doubled.
