About the project: SYNOPSIS: In the first act of this psychological thriller, two couples in unstable marriages inadvertantly exchange partners in a night of adulterous encounters. The situations in the separate hotel rooms are so similar that at times both couples speak the same words. While Leon and Jane go through with the infidelity, Pete and Sonja do not. In the second act, we are introduced to a psychologist and her husband. The psychologist has disappeared on a deserted road after her car broke down. Was she murdered, and, if so, why? As the play progresses, and revelatory details accumulate, these two seemingly disparate stories become linked in a chain of coincidences that leads to an utterly unexpected conculsion. Additional info: Auditions will consist of cold reads. No monologues. Perusal scripts will be available 30 minutes prior. SPEAKING IN TONGUES is written in two halves with each half having a particular tone. The play is in three parts. The entire play was written for only four actors, but there are nine characters. Rather than double casting some roles, the director would prefer casting nine actors - one for each character. He will cast fewer actors, if needed. If you are a serious actor who would like to be part of a play that will allow you to showcase your talents and challenge you, SPEAKING IN TONGUES is that play. SPEAKING IN TONGUES contains adult language and themes. Certain scenes involve intimate physical contact and kissing. This production will run from May 22 to June 1.
