About the project: Once Upon a Mattress tells the story of the princess and the pea through song, dance and flawless comedic timing. This show launched the incredible careers of Carol Burnett and Sarah Jessica Parker, so there is a hint of magic too! Additional info: Please note: there is a production fee applied. Callbacks: Wednesday, April 9 – Times will be assigned Callbacks will be requested for select roles as needed. Prepare 32 measures of a song (no more than 2 minutes) of your choice that fits the style of the show or desired character An accompanist will be provided. Please bring a copy of your music, in your key, clearly marking your start and end point for the pianist, printed double-sided and in a 3-ring binder. Please do not staple your music. Come prepared to move for some light choreography Be aware that you may be asked to read lines or sing a selection from the show at auditions or callbacks You will be asked to complete an actor agreement. Please bring a performance resume if you have one. If under age 18, a parent signature is required on the Actor Agreement. Bring a listing of all your potential rehearsal conflicts from May through June 2025. Bring a headshot. A simple selfie is all that is needed. In-person auditions are strongly preferred First rehearsal will be in early May All cast members must be available for rehearsals during tech week June 14 – June 19, 2025 Rehearsals will generally be held Sunday through Thursday evenings in the northwest suburban area.
