About the project: William Gibson’s THE MIRACLE WORKER takes place primarily in the spring of 1887 at Ivy Green, the Keller Home, in Tuscumbia, Alabama. The characters and story are based on Helen Keller’s autobiography, Annie Sullivan’s letters, and Nella Braddy’s book Anne Sullivan Macy. Additional info: For all speaking roles, you will be asked to read from the script. Actors auditioning for Helen will be asked to do a series of tasks as Helen. Actors auditioning should use a Southern accent. Viney is a servant in the Keller Household. She loves Helen and has a witty sense of humor.
