What to Prepare: - A 32-bar cut of a contemporary musical theater song. Encouraged choices selection from any Starkid Musical, Shrek, American Idiot, or song in the pop/rock genre. (Bring a track; accompanist not provided) - A one-minute comedic monologue or a hilarious joke (not a one-liner) - Be prepared for possible cold readings. Callback Info: Callbacks are on March 29th at 1 pm If called back, be prepared for a music call, movement call, and possible cold readings. Rehearsals Begin: May 4th, 2025 (Rehearsals will be 4-5 days a week, bulk on Saturday and Sundays) Performance Dates: June 20th, June 21st, and June 22nd. Various townspeople, co-workers, and background characters who become part of the singing, dancing, hive-mind musical invasion. The ensemble is crucial in creating the eerie, over-the-top musical world.
Paul’s love interest. Witty, independent, and one of the few unaffected by the musical invasion. Strong singing and acting required. Ab3-F5
Paul’s best friend and an enthusiastic co-worker. Fun-loving but quickly becomes one of the first infected by the musical virus. Requires strong comedic chops and singing ability. Bb3-C5
An eccentric, doomsday-prepper scientist who has been predicting an apocalypse like this for years. Passionate and unhinged, he takes on a leadership role in the resistance. Requires excellent comedic timing and a strong singing voice. Bb3-C5
A no-nonsense, tough military leader determined to stop the outbreak by any means necessary. Commands authority but is prone to making extreme choices. Requires strong acting and singing. Eb3-Eb5
A co-worker, she is initially skeptical of the situation but later joins Paul in his escape. A fun, lively character with strong comedic and singing skills. G3-E5
A goofy, slacker co-worker who is initially largely oblivious to the crisis. He meets a tragic fate early in the outbreak. Requires strong comedic delivery. C#2-F3
