Casting Call for Boys and Girls for "The Wizard of Oz" Play
Seeking boys and girls for "The Wizard of Oz" play. See details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Share the joy, fun and adventure as Dorothy takes a musical trip “down that dusty road” in Kansas to the yellow brick road that leads to Oz. The beloved Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion are on hand to help face treacherous challenges, a wicked Witch and a wily Wizard. All discover there truly is “no place like home” in this touching Inland Empire favorite. Additional info: Prior experience is not necessary to audition, so those without a theatrical resume may indicate any performing experience such as church choirs, public speaking, etc. Auditioners should also bring their own sheet music in the preferred key, and be prepared to sing a short selection of about 16 measures. A pianist will be provided but will not be able to transpose any sheet music. Auditions with CDs will not be accepted. Those without sheet music will be asked to sing “Happy Birthday” with the accompanist. “The Wizard of Oz” opens Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 7:00 PM and will continue on weekends through June 29, 2025, with special weekday performance on Thursday, June 26, 2025. Performances are Fridays at 7:00 PM, Saturdays at 2:00 PM (except Opening Night) and 7:00 PM and Sundays at 2:00 PM. The special Thursday performance will begin at 7:00 PM.
