About the project: Directors are thrilled to announce the auditions for upcoming production of the timeless musical Fiddler on the Roof. They invite talented actors, singers, and dancers of all backgrounds to join in bringing this classic to life. Roles are available for all ages, genders, and ethnicities. Set in the small village of Anatevka, Fiddler on the Roof tells the story of Tevye, a poor milkman, who struggles to maintain his family’s traditions as his daughters grow up and seek marriages based on love rather than custom. With timeless songs like “If I Were a Rich Man,” “Sunrise, Sunset,” and “Matchmaker, Matchmaker,” this is a heartwarming, powerful musical about love, family, and cultural survival. Rate: unpaid. PREPARE: Singing: - Prepare 16-32 bars of a musical theater song in the style of the show. - Vocalists should bring a copy of their sheet music in the appropriate key: - an accompanist will be provided. - A cappella and tracks are discouraged. Monologue: a short (1-2 minute) contemporary monologue or a reading from the script. Movement: Be prepared for a short dance or movement combination, so wear comfortable clothing and shoes. - Photo - Resume Callbacks by invitation, Tuesday March 4 and Weds March 5 as needed. REHEARSALS: Rehearsal will begin after March 8. Plan on 3-4 rehearsals a week including one weekend day.
