Rate: Every eligible actor 16 and up will receive a paid travel stipend at the end of the show’s run. Additional info: Rehearsal Dates: March 23rd- April 24th Rehearsals are generally Sunday through Thursday 6:30 pm-10:30 pm) (Mandatory Tech Week: April 27th- May 1st) Performance Dates: May 2nd- May 25th (Friday- 8:00 pm show, Saturday- 2:00 pm & 8:00 pm shows, Sunday- 2:00 pm show) *NOTE* The directors may add additional performances including Thursday evenings at a later date. Music from the show, scenes, or choreography will be taught at the night of auditions. Some performers may be asked to attend callbacks on the same night of their audition. Vocal sides will be sent in advance of the audition date, and after the directors confirmed your appointment. Please see the attachment for details. Anya is brave, fiery, witty, and ,above all, determined. When we first meet Anya, she is a lost soul, but one with great strength, pride, determination, and dignity. As the story progresses, she begins to discover her sense of self and the possibility that she may be the missing princess Range: G3-F5, Belt to D5.
Dmitry is a scoundrel with a heart of gold. A street rat who grew into a conman, Dmitry does all he can do to get out of poverty and is not above lying, cheating, and stealing to do so–that is until he meets Anya. What starts as just another scheme turns into the adventure of a lifetime that requires Dimitry to look inward and figure out how to put the one he loves before himself. Range: A2-G4. “Baritenor”
Gleb is a son of the Russian revolution. As a career officer in the Bolshevik secret police, he is a passionate defender of the hardwon gains of the new order. His attraction to Anya puts him in violent conflict with himself. Range: A2-Gb4. Baritone with a strong upper extension.
Lily is the lady-in-waiting to the Dowager Empress. She has been by the Dowager’s side since before the revolution. Lily is clever, dutiful, and above all fun (when not working for the Dowager). She deals with her exile from Russia with a sort of resigned dark humor. She and Vlad were once an item (unbeknownst to her oblivious husband) and they rekindle their romance upon re-uniting. Range: G3-B5 Jazzy Mezzo with an upper extension.
(Doubles in Ensemble as well) Young Anastasia is the willful, brave, proud, and precocious youngest daughter of the Tsar. She has a special bond with her grandmother (whom she calls Nana). Alexei was the Tsarevich (Heir to the throne) and only boy of the Romanov siblings. Anya mentions that he was her best friend. Able to portray age 5-10 for Alexei and 7-11 for young Anastasia Range: C4-C5, a sweet child soprano
