Kids and Teens Needed for "Mary Poppins" Show
2nd-6th Grade performers are invited to audition for the "Mary Poppins" Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: The jack-of-all-trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that "Anything can happen if you let it." Additional info: Mary Poppins features a multifaceted ensemble of dancers and singers. There is no formal dance call for this audition, but individuals may be contacted to provide a dancing sample at the discretion of the production team. TEENS (7th-12th grade) Recording 1: 16-32 bars of a musical selection from a Golden Age Broadway musical or Disney Recording 2: 1-minute monologue CHILDREN (2nd Grade-6th Grade) Recording 1: Selection from Let's Go Fly A Kite attached. Recording 2: Short Reading attached. REHEARSAL PROCESS: Read Through: March 24th Rehearsal Period: March 24th - May 24 (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays). A schedule is attached.
