About the project: Bitingly relevant, sprinkled with sass, and inspired by the hit film, Bring It On The Musical takes audiences on a high-flying journey that is filled with the complexities of friendship, jealousy, betrayal, and forgiveness. Uniting some of the freshest and funniest creative minds on Broadway, Bring It On features an original story by Tony Award winner Jeff Whitty (Avenue Q), music and lyrics by Pulitzer- and Tony Award-winning composer, Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights, Hamilton), music by Pulitzer- and Tony Award-winning composer, Tom Kitt (Next to Normal), lyrics by Broadway lyricist, Amanda Green (High Fidelity), and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Musical. Campbell is cheer royalty at Truman High School and her senior year should prove the most cheesetastic - she's been named captain of the squad! However, an unexpected redistricting has forced her to spend her final year of high school at the neighboring Jackson High School. Despite having the deck stacked against her, Campbell befriends the school's dance crew. Together with their headstrong and hardworking leader, Danielle, they form a powerhouse squad for the ultimate competition - the National Championships. Additional info: Callbacks at 3:30 pm if needed on March 2nd: 1 pm-3 pm. Cheer experience is NOT required to be cast in this show!! Directors are also casting cheerleaders who will only dance, cheer, and stunt and will NOT have to sing!! If you are auditioning to cheer/dance only, you do NOT have to sing at auditions! Come prepared to dance and move as you will learn and perform a short dance/movement call. Please prepare 16-32 bars of a Musical Theatre piece that compliments the style of the show if you would like to be considered for a role where singing is required. An accompanist will be provided so please be sure to mark your sheet music so that it is easy to read. You may also bring in a track to sing along with if that is more comfortable. Directors will have a Bluetooth speaker available. Rehearsals run M-TH from 6-8:30, beginning APRIL 14TH. Please note there will be a few stunt clinics on either a few Saturdays or Sundays depending on the cast’s availability. Conflicts will be accepted for rehearsal dates; however, an excessive number of conflicts with rehearsal times may impact casting decisions. Directors request that all known conflicts be shared with us at the time of auditions. Please be aware that conflicts brought to our attention after the casting of the show may result in recasting or being released from the show. If you are involved with another production that will conflict with rehearsals for this production, we ask that you please refrain from auditioning from this show and focus on the original commitment made to the other production. Conflicts with tech rehearsals and performances will not be allowed. Directors will not be accepting conflicts past May 29th.
