Seeking actors ages 15 and up for "Hairspray" Musical. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: The Tony-winning musical production tells the story of teenager Tracy Turnblad who wants to dance on a popular TV show in Baltimore, Maryland in 1962. Additional info: Auditions will comprise a 10-minute individual solo slot to sing & act; then we will ask you to attend 1 of the following 15-minute open dance call auditions at the start of every hour (12, 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 pm). Tracy's best friend and dorky sidekick. Not the brightest girl, but she has good intentions. Bursting to get free of her mother's dominating control, she falls for Seaweed with childlike curiosity.. Vocal Range: G5 (Top) & A3 (Bottom)
Tracy's classmate and friend, who is discriminated against due to his skin color. He is cocky but surprisingly lovable. Talented in song and dance. He falls for Penny. Vocal Range: D5 (Top) & F3 (Bottom).
Link's girlfriend and Tracy's nemesis. She is pretty, thin, shallow, snobby, and racist. Can't dance but is expected to win Miss Baltimore Hairspray. Always feels the need to be the center of attention. Vocal Range: F5 (Top) & A3 (Bottom).
