About the project: This timeless musical masterpiece celebrates the soaring sounds and hopeful spirit of America. At the dawn of a new century, everything is changing… and anything is possible. Set in the volatile melting pot of turn-of-the-century New York, three distinctly American tales are woven together — that of a stifled upper-class wife, a determined Jewish immigrant and a daring young Harlem musician — united by their belief in the promise of the American Dream. Together, they confront history’s timeless contradictions of wealth and poverty, freedom and prejudice, hope and despair… and what it means to live in America. Additional info: Those auditioning should prepare a vocal audition that does not exceed 60 seconds. Sing a song in the show's style or a song that best shows off your singing voice. If you have recorded music or a track, a speaker with a phone jack will be available. Please have music downloaded and not streamed from YouTube, Spotify, the Internet, etc. You may also sing a cappella. An accompanist will not be provided for this audition. REHEARSAL PERIOD: September 23, 2025 - November 5, 2025 7:00-10:00 pm, Monday - Thursday. (The director will distribute a detailed rehearsal schedule for all actors.) TECH WEEK/DRESS REHEARSALS November 2-5, 2025 Crew integration, cue-to-cue, tech rehearsals. Required attendance. PERFORMANCES November 6-16, 2025 Thursday, Friday and Saturday shows at 7:30pm, Sunday shows at 2:30 pm. NOTE: Actors must be able to commit to all performance dates & tech/dress rehearsals.
