Child Auditions for Musical Production "The Little Mermaid"
Auditions open for children for the musical production of "The Little Mermaid." Please find the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Performance Dates: June 12-16 at 7 pm nightly Callbacks: Tuesday, February 4 from 4:30 pm-6:30 pm Rehearsal Start Date: Mid-April Rehearsal Times: Generally Monday-Friday, 6:30-9:30 pm, with occasional weekend rehearsals based on cast/crew availability & conflicts. Note for Parents: There is a Youth Theatre Fee for each child under age 16 who is cast in the show. (There is NO fee to audition! Fees are only due if the child is cast & accepts their role) This fee helps cover the cost of additional supervision, costuming, etc. Be prepared to sing 30-60 seconds of a musical theatre song with backing music. Please bring your backing track on (i.e. smart phone or tablet). The directors will have multiple adapters for you to connect to speaker. A pianist will not be provided. Backing tracks are widely available on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, etc. and offer consistency so you can have your the best audition possible. The directors strongly discourage a capella auditions. Be prepared to list any schedule conflicts you will have during the rehearsal process & performances for the show (April 12 to June 16). Be prepared to upload a photo. If you have a professional headshot, great! If not, no worries–any recent photo is helpful for team. Be prepared to either upload a performance resume or describe your performing experience.
