Singing Audition for "Gypsy: A Musical Fable" Show
Performers age 10 and up are invited to audition for "Gypsy: A Musical Fable". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: "Gypsy: A Musical Fable" is a musical with music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and a book by Arthur Laurents. It is loosely based on the 1957 memoirs of striptease artist Gypsy Rose Lee, and focuses on her mother, Rose, whose name has become synonymous with "the ultimate show business mother." It follows the dreams and efforts of Rose to raise two daughters to perform onstage and casts an affectionate eye on the hardships of show business life. Additional info: The rehearsal schedule will be released after casting. Evening rehearsals will generally run from 6 pm to 10 pm. There are also rehearsals on Saturday. A Sunday afternoon rehearsal will be held during tech week. Please note any conflicts on the application. Performances are scheduled for April 9–19, 2025. If interested, please apply.
