Young Writers and Performers for New Works Festival in Austin

New Manifest Theatre Company, located in Austin, is casting young writers and performers for a youth new works festival.  Artists between the ages of 8 and 17 are invited to submit solo performances of original poetry, songs, stories, or monologues. All work should take inspiration from Xavier Alvarado’s painting, I Was Given a Tree by a Wizard.  If selected, performers will receive a $50 honorarium as well as constructive feedback from professional actors and writers.  The showcase takes place at 2:00 p.m. on January 25th at Austin Community College Highland.  Who: Austin-area youth aged 8 - 17 What: Performance of an original song, poem, monologue, or story inspired by I Was Given a Tree by a Wizard When: January 25, 2025, Austin Community College Highland Rate: $50 honorarium
