About the project: Play synopsis: When Annie's husband, John, dies of leukemia, she and best friend Chris resolve to raise money for a new settee in the local hospital waiting room as a memorial. They manage to persuade four fellow Women's Institute (a society club focused on homemaking skills) members to pose nude with them for an "alternative" calendar, with a little help from amateur photographer Lawrence. The news of the women's charitable venture spreads like wildfire, and hordes of press soon descend on the small village of Knapeley in the Yorkshire Dales, United Kingdom. The calendar is a success, but the woman now face a strain on their friendships, marriages, and their new found self image. Based on the true story of eleven WI members who posed nude for a calendar to raise money for the Leukaemia Research Fund in the late 1990s. A hesitant and a bit shy young man with enough wit to make a joke and enough spirit to turn up at the WI hall in the first place. When he arranges the shots he is close to female nudity but sees only the photo. He has the eye of an artist despite the day time job of a hospital porter. Role may be combined with the same actor portraying Liam.
He is loud, direct, and self focused. A photo shoot director focused on getting the job done which would be easier if other people were not involved. Role may be combined with the same actor portraying Lawrence.
A beautician focused on herself. She is having an affair with Ruth's husband. A cameo role in one scene.
