A Musical Fable "Gypsy" Seeks Children and Teens
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Directors are looking for boys and girls ages 9+ for a musical fable "Gypsy". More details are below. About the musical: Regarded by many theatre professionals as the finest musical ever created, Gypsy is the ultimate tale of an ambitious stage mother fighting for her daughters’ success – while secretly yearning for her own. Set all across America in the 1920s and 30s, when vaudeville was dying and burlesque was born, Arthur Laurents’ landmark show explores the world of two-bit show business with brass, humor, heart and sophistication. Additional information: People seeking acting roles should come prepared to sing part of any song ‘a capella’. Choose a song comfortable for you, not necessarily from the show. Those interested in dance will be asked to speak about their interest and experience. To minimize your waiting time, you will be sent an email indicating when you should arrive - expect to be there about an hour (or at least that’s our hope). If you're interested, please apply.
