Singing Audition for "Freaky Friday" Musical
Performers in grades 8-12 are invited to audition for "Freaky Friday" Musical. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: When an overworked mother and her teenage daughter magically swap bodies, they have just one day to put things right again. Freaky Friday, a new musical based on the celebrated novel by Mary Rodgers and the hit Disney films, is a heartfelt, comedic, and unexpectedly emotional update on an American classic. By spending a day in each other's shoes, Katherine and Ellie come to appreciate one another's struggles, learn self-acceptance, and realize the immeasurable love and mutual respect that bond a mother and daughter. Additional info: Please prepare a 32-bar cut (around 1 minute) of a song in the similar style of the show and a 30-second monologue. Callbacks will consist of a dance call and cold reads. Some people will be asked to sing again. Show Dates are January 31st - February 9th, 2025 with 6 Performances. There will be rehearsals over the holiday break. You can still do the show if you are going away! Please be prepared to list your conflicts between auditions and November 22nd and January 31st. (Conflicts are expected! This is for planning purposes. Attendance is REQUIRED for tech week (January 26th-30th) and all performances!) Note that the fee will be involved. If interested, please apply.
