Young Talent Wanted for "The Wedding Singer" Show
Looking for teens ages 16 and up for "The Wedding Singer" Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Music audition information: Auditionees are asked to prepare a 1-minute vocal selection of an upbeat, 1980s-style pop score, emphasizing chest dominant vocal mix and belting style. The repertoire can be a pop/rock piece or pop-style musical theatre. Please provide your accompanist with a binder containing a 3-hole punched double-sided printed copy of the music, clearly marking your cuts. Auditionees may be asked to briefly vocalize for a range evaluation following their vocal selection. (Repertoire suggestions: Cyndi Lauper, Prince, Queen, Lionel Richie, Madonna, “Spring Awakening”, “Bare”, “School of Rock”, “Memphis”, “Hair”, “Jesus Christ Superstar”). Unless you are auditioning for the role of Robbie, (see “Character Breakdown”) please do not bring a selection from Wedding Singer. Acting Sides: Auditionees are asked to prepare one of the readings on the “prepared reading” sheet attached. This can be memorized or you can use the sheet during auditions. Directors just want to get a sense of your acting and characterization ability. You may be asked to read other characters' sides as well. Actors 16-17 years old must have parental consent. If you are between 16-17 years of age and will not be 18 years old by the start of rehearsals on February 18th, 2025, please come to auditions 15 minutes early with a parent or guardian to fill out a physical audition form in person. Please also know that if you will still be a minor by the start of rehearsals. Show Dates: April 17, 18, 19, 25, 26, May 2 and 3 at 7:30 pm, and April 27 and May 4 at 3:00 pm.
