Casting performers ages 16 and up for "Groundhog Day" Show. Please see the details below. About the project: How would you spend your time if forced to repeat the same day over and over again? Phil Connors, a seasoned big-city weatherman, is frustrated to be to reporting the annual Groundhog Day Ceremony in small town Punxsutawney, PA. His arrogance and cynicism are in direct opposition to the cheery townsfolk, who are ready for their favorite Groundhog to not see his shadow and welcome an early spring. After disdainfully covering the rodent's negative forecast, he awakens the next day only to discover it's February 2 once more. Initially, in disbelief, Phil finally accepts he is doomed to repeat the same day over and over again... Will Phil accept that he is doomed to repeat the same day over and over again? Or will he find the courage to change himself and his fate? Additional info: Please prepare 16-32 bars (around 1-1 ½ minutes) of a song of your choice. There will not be a dance audition. Please either bring clearly marked sheet music for our accompanist or a track to sing along to. Directors will have a Bluetooth speaker available. Please bring the audition form attached or directors will have copies for you to fill out when you arrive. Rehearsal Information: Rehearsals run M-TH from 6-8:30, beginning DECEMBER 9TH. Rehearsals will break for Christmas and New Year and resume again on January 6th. Actors are only called to those rehearsals that involve their characters. Conflicts: Directors ask that you please be upfront and honest about conflicts at the time of auditions. If you are involved in another show that will cause you to miss an abundance of rehearsals, please refrain from auditioning from this show and keep your focus on the other production. An abundance of conflicts can also affect casting choices. TECH WEEK REHEARSALS: The first FULL CAST tech rehearsal will be FRIDAY JAN 31st. This Full tech rehearsal is mandatory for ALL ACTORS and CREW. Tech week then runs Monday-Thursday, February 3rd - 6th starting at 6 pm, leading up to opening night. TECH REHEARSALS AND ALL PERFORMANCES ARE MANDATORY! Performance dates are: February 7th, 2025: 7:00 PM February 8th, 2025: 7:00 PM February 9th, 2025: 2:00 PM Mandatory Pick-Up Rehearsal: February 13th (6:00 PM) February 14th, 2025: 7:00 PM February 15th, 2025: 7:00 PM February 16th, 2025: 2:00 PM Please note this show is PG-13. there is some strong language and strong themes.
