In the original production, the ensemble roles were filled by members of the principal cast. We are looking for actors of all vocal ranges, ages, and abilities.
She is optimistic, playful, and deeply loves her neurotic and distant parents. Her heart races with love in the rare occasions they are close to her. Believing she has a weak heart, her parents isolate her to avoid any excitement. To cope with her loneliness, young Amélie creates a vibrant world in her imagination. When Amélie is an adult and on her own, Young Amélie appears to reawaken adult Amélie’s sense of adventure. Though not graphic, the character witnesses her mother’s untimely death.
