About the project: This classic drama is set in the Christmas Court of King Henry II as he grapples with questions of family, legacy, and disappointment. Show Synopsis from the Director: At its heart, The Lion in Winter is a family dramedy. An aging patriarch. Three sons competing for their fathers love and attention. A formidable "ex wife" and a much younger mistress, this is not a normal family though, this family includes the King of England, a Queen of both England and France, two future Kings of England and the reigning King of France. This play is an imagining of a family Christmas gathering. Additional info: A real actors show. This is a great opportunity to dig into complex roles and lush dialogue while working with a team that is dedicated to producing some of the best theatre around. Cast: Seven individually vital and compelling characters. A note on accents: This production will not be using special accents for these characters.
