Young Talent Wanted for "Beauty and the Beast"

Performers ages 7 and up are invited to audition for the "Beauty and the Beast" Show. Please see the details below. About the project: This ‘tale as old as time,’ based on Disney’s Academy Award-winning film, features the timeless story you love along with all your favorite characters and songs. Let the magic unfold in front of your eyes as dancing dishes, gorgeous costumes, and spectacular settings bring this Disney classic to life on stage. Celebrate your holidays with the most beautiful love story ever told! Rate: Performers under the age of 18 will be offered complimentary tickets as compensation. Additional info: If auditioning for Chip, please download and print the indicated section of “Be Our Guest”. This is what you will sing for your audition, no other songs need to be prepared. Callbacks (if needed): Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 6:00 P.M. Please be prepared to: – Sing 16 bars of a musical theatre song of your choice (Approx. 30-60 seconds max). You may sing a song from the show if you would like. Please be aware that you will be cut off after 16 bars. You must sing with the provided accompaniment or with a device you provide. No a cappella auditions will be allowed. – You may be asked to sing scales by the accompanist. – Be prepared to fill out a conflict sheet at auditions (be as specific as possible about conflicts throughout the rehearsal period). Conflicts play a significant part in casting given the abbreviated rehearsal period. SOME auditioners may be asked to: – Complete a dance audition, taught by the show choreographer (dress appropriately) – Read the provided selections from the script. Rehearsals and Performances: Rehearsals will begin on Sunday, November 3, 2024. Rehearsals will generally be on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30, Saturdays from 10 AM until 1/2/3 PM, and Sundays from 12 to 3 PM, but there may be some Mondays or Fridays depending on staff availability and schedules. A tentative rehearsal schedule will be available at the time of your audition. Tech week will be from Saturday, November 30, through Thursday, December 5, 2024. No absences will be accepted during tech week or performances. Performances: December 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 28, 2024 at 7:30 PM December 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, 29, 2024 at 2:00 PM Please make sure you can fully commit to the rehearsal period and performance schedule before auditioning.
