About the project: This timeless, captivating story is brought to life in this glorious musical filled with personal discovery, heartache, hope, and everlasting love…Based on Louisa May Alcott's life, Little Women follows the adventures of sisters, Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy March. Jo is trying to sell her stories for publication, but the publishers are not interested – her friend, Professor Bhaer, tells her that she has to do better and write more for herself. Begrudgingly taking this advice, Jo weaves the story of herself and her sisters and their experience growing up in Civil War America. Additional info: Please arrive 15 min early to get parked and sign in. Dress professionally. Bring a current headshot and resume. Bring a list of conflicts from September 28, 2024 - October 26, 2024. Conflicts during tech week and performances will not be accepted. Two contrasting 32-bar cuts (or 60-second cuts) in the style of the show. Bring sheet music properly marked and in the desired key. An accompanist will be provided. Callbacks will be by invitation only and held Wednesday, September 25th from 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm. Callbacks will be held at the same location. COVID-19 Policy: For this production specifically, we will be implementing the following rules: For the safety of the actors, team, and patrons, you may be asked to take an at-home COVID-19 test, regardless of vaccination status. Directors would only ask this if there has been a known exposure or a positive case that affects the actors or team. In this instance, any at-home tests will be provided by the company. If you are fully vaccinated and you would like to provide proof of your vaccination status to your stage manager, you may send an email with a picture of your completed vaccination card or bring your completed vaccination card to rehearsal. If at any point you are running a fever, feel sick, or had a direct COVID exposure for 15 minutes or longer, please inform your stage manager immediately and do not attend a rehearsal or a performance. This applies to all individuals, regardless of vaccination status. If at any point there has been a COVID-19 exposure among the cast or production team, directors reserves the right to enforce wearing masks in rehearsals or while indoors backstage during performances. Rehearsals will begin Saturday, September 28th, and will be held at Dana’s Dance Academy in Irving, TX. Rehearsals will typically run Monday-Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. Not everyone will be called to every rehearsal. Tech week begins at Mainstage 222 on Saturday, October 26th.
