Audition Rules and Regulations 1. All auditions are closed. That means that parents, friends, and family may not stay and watch. Directors and choreographers need to see how the child performs when Mom and Dad are not in the room. 2. No cell phones are allowed during auditions, Students may not record their own or another student’s audition. Those who attempt to use their electronic devices during auditions will have points docked. Tips on a GREAT Audition! 1. Speak and sing with expression and confidence! 2. Practice so you don’t stare at the paper for the words 3. Look out to the audience when you sing 4. Use gestures with your body, hands, arms, head, eyes, etc. feel free to move about the stage 5. Research the show through videos or recordings to get a better idea of how the character sings and Speaks. 6. You are encouraged to dress up for auditions. Dressing up means dressing in your “Sunday best clothes”. It does not mean dressing up as the character you are auditioning for. Note: Those auditioning should not use props or accessories in their audition, this is distracting and does not influence the teachers positively. Please see the attachment for details.
