Looking for performers ages 16 and up for "Moonlight Looks Swell on You". Please see the details below. Additional info: Auditions will include a monologue, singing, dancing, and cold reads. Actors need to be prepared with a one minute monologue, one minute of a song, and to dance (no need to prepare a dance beforehand). Show dates are Nov 7th and Nov 9th. See the attachment for details. Moretti army private - Joe is the male lead. He sings one solo and two duets; he appears in four or five scenes. Jon is the son of a crime boss, and is running away from that life. Dancing required.
Newspaper reporter - Audrey is the female lead and appears in almost every scene. She is an intelligent, booking girl with no interest in romance until she meets Joe. She sings two duets with Joe and a solo. Dancing required.
Army private-Vince is a hard-scrabbled city kid from Brooklyn always trying to look tough. He appears in three or four scenes, always with his friends Buddy and Ernie. He sings (with Buddy and Ernie) on two songs. Dancing required.
Army private-Buddy is a good old country boy from Iowa; simple and lovable. He appears in three or four scenes, always with his friends Buddy, and Ernie. He sings (with Vince and Ernie) on two songs and has a dramatic monologue. Dancing required.

Newspaper accountant-Mrs. Collinsworth is a long-time employee in the office of the Mapleton Courier. She is a mature voice of reason among the office workers. She appears in a couple of scenes, and has only a few lines. Dancing not required.
Newspaper editor - Mr. Weatherby feels the Mapleton Courier editor job is beneath him. He sees himself as an editor of a big newspaper somewhere, and often gets frustrated with the simple and mundane stories that happen in Mapleton. He is constantly casting a bigger vision for the paper. He appears in three or four scenes. Dancing not required.
Army sergeant-Sergeant Grimes is a crusty old guy that typifies an Army drill sergeant. He appears in a couple of scenes. Dancing not required.
Army Public Relations-Captain Haynes is a polished officer who facilitates the reporting arrangement between Joe and the Mapleton Courier, represented by Audrey. This role can be male or female, and appears in a couple of scenes. Dancing not required.
The Emcee has a line in the dance hall scene. This role can be male or female, but needs to be exuberant. Dancing not required.
The singer has two solos - both in the dance hall scene. This role calls for a jazz/crooner type voice. Dancing not required.
Gus appears at the opening and closing of the show. At the beginning, Gus has a monologue that introduces the audience to Mapleton and transitions to the opening drama. He is thoughtful, lovable and proud of his home town; he sings part of the opener. Dancing not required.
