Looking for kids ages 8 and above for "Fiddler On The Roof" Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Set in the little village of Anatevka, the story centers on Tevye, a poor dairyman, and his five daughters. With the help of a colorful and tight-knit Jewish community, Tevye tries to protect his daughters and instill them with traditional values in the face of changing social norms and the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist Russia. Rich in historical and ethnic detail, Fiddler on the Roof’s universal theme of tradition cuts across barriers of race, class, nationality, and religion. Additional info: Please be prepared to read and sing. For audition material, please download the attachments. Read Thru: August 22 at 6 pm. Directors will let you know the location as soon as possible. Rehearsals: Begin the week of August 25. The weekly rehearsal schedule will be published one week in advance based on conflicts. Unless the conflict schedule dictates otherwise, you will rehearse from Sunday through Thursday with no rehearsals on Friday or Saturday. However, there may be times when weekend rehearsal and set work might be necessary. Directors will not ask you to come to a rehearsal unless you are needed, but please note, that the nature of theater is “hurry up and wait.” At one rehearsal, you may have lots of downtime, and at another one, you may be very busy.
