Auditions are being held for kids in the film "The Rain Lady." Please refer to the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: An impoverished and illegal Arab immigrant, Noor, and her young daughter Yara, find hope through folk tales and nature on the day Noor gets fired from her job. The project infuses an animated folktale with live-action footage. Genre: Slice-of-life Drama; Magical-Realism. Rate: Paid Project, SAG approved, Meals & Credit Provided. Arab. Yara is silly, brave, and sometimes sneaky. She is very observant, and is sad watching her mom struggle to pay rent and keep her job. Yara wants the freedom to play and explore but is often stuck with her mom at work. When people are mean to her mom, Yara is brave enough to stick up for her. She is very goofy. When Yara feels sad, ashamed, or guilty, she hides to see if her mom will look for her.
Has an extremely rough and sassy attitude, which is warranted based on the context of her difficult life. She's never had it easy and has had a very underprivileged upbringing. She's always gotten the short end of the stick. Today, in particular, is the worst day of Krystal's life, and she decides to take it out on Noor, the cashier who neglected to return a penny in her change.
