About the project: THE STORY: Fifteen-year-old Christopher is on a mission. After the untimely death of his neighbor’s dog, the brilliant and unique boy is compelled to investigate the crime. See the world through Christopher’s eyes as he embarks on an extraordinary journey where he challenges assumed truths and discovers life-changing secrets. Based on Mark Haddon’s best-selling novel, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time adapted for the stage by Simon Stephens is a thrilling, heartwarming, and uplifting adventure story for every one of us. Winner of Broadway’s 2013 Tony Award for Best Play. Additional info: THE AUDITION: Cold or warm read; nothing to memorize. Please familiarize yourself with the book and or script. All performers should have a passable British accent, and dialect variety accepted. Movement and physical actions to be determined by individual strengths and abilities. REHEARSALS: Commitment to the production includes rehearsals generally 6:30-9:30 M-F, 12/7-18/2023 & 1/3-2/1/2024. Some variations based the director’s needs, but the ensemble is heavily used throughout the play. Actors should study lines through the holidays and be off book (memorized) upon return in January. Some conflicts are acceptable (everyone has a life) but no conflicts are accepted during tech week 1/29-2/1/2024. PERFORMANCES: Shows will be Friday-Sunday first weekend, Thursday- Sunday 2nd and 3rd weekends. Friday, Saturday, Thursday 7:30 pm curtain, Sundays 2:30 pm curtain.
