"The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" Seeks Teens

Palatine, IL, United States
ID: 562154Exp: 12/11/2023
Description:

Performers aged 16 and above are invited to audition for "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" Show. Please refer to the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life-un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! At least the losers get a juice box. A riotous ride, complete with audience participation, "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" is a delightful den of comedic genius. Additional info: Prepare 16-32 bars of an up-tempo song or a ballad in the style of the show. If singing from the show please be prepared to sing in the show key. Callbacks BY INVITATION ONLY on Thursday, December 14th- 7-10 pm (will include a dance number). If chosen for the cast, only three conflicts will be allowed during the 8 weeks of rehearsals and no conflicts will be allowed during tech week or performances. The audition form is attached to be completed. If interested, please apply.
