The young single father of Stevie. Hakeem is a recovering nicotine addict still dealing with the loss of his wife, Stevie’s mom. Hakeem is disassociated, tense, and anxious with deep-rooted anger that he takes out on his son. However, no matter how hard he can be on his son, Hakeem would do anything for the well-being of Stevie.
The robber of the grocery store. This man is a drug addict who deals with shakes, tremors, and twitching. He is unsure and nervous while robbing the store, and therefore, makes split second decisions that have devastating effects.
The cheery grocery store worker that checks out Hakeem. She complies with the robber's demands.
