Seeking Teen Boys for "Plaid Tidings" Show
Audition for "Plaid Tidings". Seeking boys ages 17+. Please see the details below. About the project: "Plaid Tidings" Synopsis At first, Francis, Jinx, Smudge, and Sparky aren't sure why they've returned to Earth for another posthumous performance, but a phone call from the heavenly Rosemary Clooney lets them know that they're needed to put a little harmony into a discordant world. Sprinkled among the Christmas offerings are audience favorites, like their riotous three-minute-and-eleven-second version of The Ed Sullivan Show – this time, featuring the Rockettes, the Chipmunks and The Vienna Boys Choir, as well as a Plaid Caribbean Christmas that puts the "Day-O" in Excelsis! Additional info: Actors who are interested in auditioning for this show should be comfortable singing, dancing, and should have good comedic timing. For the audition, actors will be taught a selection of a song from the show, and will be asked to sing solo. Individuals may also be asked to sing with others to allow the director to assess blending and ability to hold their part. Actors should also be prepared for a cold reading of scenes from the script. If interested, please apply.
4 roles
Romantic crooner and spiritual singer, Francis is the leader and caretaker of the group. He's confident, asthmatic, and has a great deal of compassion for the music and the group.
Sparky is the clown of the group. Energetic and clever, he can't get enough tailor-made solos.
Every group needs "the shy one" and, in this cast, Jinx fits the bill. Jinx lives his life terrified and doesn't always remember what song comes next. When he does perform, don't ask him to sing above an A unless you want to trigger a nosebleed.
Smudge is a worrier. He worries about the props, the running order, and always assumes the audience won't like him. His chronic nervous stomach makes him oddly reluctant to perform but, once he's on stage and in the zone, he brings the charm.
