"Number The Stars" Show Needs Teen Girls

About the project: Based on true-life events in 1943 Denmark during World War II, Number the Stars tells the story of a Christian family that hides and ultimately rescues their Jewish neighbors. Described as “one of the most inspiring episodes in human history,” the Danish people saved thousands of Jews from the hands of the Nazis, helping them escape to Sweden. Through the eyes of ten-year-old Annemarie, we watch as the Danish Resistance smuggles almost the entire Jewish population of Denmark, nearly seven thousand people, across the sea to Sweden. The heroism of an entire nation reminds us that there was pride and human decency in the world even during a time of terror and war. Rate: Non-Union, No Pay. Additional info: Callbacks by invitation on September 25 at 6:30 p.m. Auditions will consist of a cold read. Sides will be available upon arrival. Please allow time to review your sides before your apt time. Performance: One Day Only! Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 9:30 am, 12:30 pm & 7:00 pm First rehearsal: October 2 at 6:30 pm. Rehearsals will be 4-5 times per week but will be scheduled around actor conflicts, that are submitted at the audition. Not every actor will be called to every rehearsal. SUPPORTING. Annemarie’s younger sister, she is five years old and a feisty, chatty girl. Completely unafraid of German soldiers, Kristi is the embodiment of blissful innocence. She loves stories about kings and queens and is constantly turning the surrealistic aspects of war into the fantasy of fairy tales. Seeking a mature and exceptional young actress. Blonde hair.
