Seeking Kids for "Willy Wonka" The Musical
Audition for "Willy Wonka" The Musical. Open to children/teens ages 6-18 years old. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka follows enigmatic candy manufacturer, Willy Wonka, as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whoever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable: the fifth is a likable young lad named Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka's rules in the factory... or suffer the consequences. Additional info: Rehearsals will be held 1-4 times per week depending on roles. Any rehearsals in January are mandatory. (Performers must be present for all rehearsals and performances with limited absences taken into account for extenuating circumstances.) Upon the start of rehearsals, a conflict sheet will be sent out for any preplanned and excused absences. All audition materials (including sheet music) will be given at the audition. The audition song will NOT be announced prior to the audition. Time will be spent during the audition for students to learn the song provided. However, it is encouraged that students wishing to prepare should listen to the entire soundtrack of the musical. See the document attached for all details. Please note that the fee applies.
