Seeking Teenagers for "Pride and Prejudice" Play
Seeking actors ages 14 and up for the play "Pride and Prejudice". See the details below. About the project: "This isn’t your grandmother’s Austen! Bold, surprising, boisterous, and timely, this P&P for a new era explores the absurdities and thrills of finding your perfect (or imperfect) match in life. The outspoken Lizzy Bennet is determined to never marry, despite mounting pressure from society. But can she resist love, especially when that vaguely handsome, mildly amusing, and impossibly aggravating Mr. Darcy keeps popping up at every turn?! Literature’s greatest tale of latent love has never felt so theatrical, or so full of life as it does in this effervescent adaptation. Because what turns us into greater fools…than the high-stakes game of love?" Additional info: The audition will consist of readings from the script. Headshots are appreciated but not required. The ages of the actors playing the roles are relative in most cases. As doubling can call for an actor to play a 14-year-old and a 50-year-old woman, it gives the actor an opportunity to really stretch and play. Callbacks (by invitation only) Saturday, October 7th, 2023 at 11:00 am. Rehearsals will begin shortly after the show is cast. PERFORMANCE DATES: February 3rd - February 24th, 2024 Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm. Actors must be available for all performances. If you are interested, please apply.
