"The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" Seeks Kids
Searching for actors between the ages 9 and 16 for "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever: The Musical". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: The Herdmans are the worst kids in the history of the world. When they crash Sunday school and demand parts in the Christmas pageant, the whole town panics. Soon everyone is calling for reluctant director Grace Bradley to cancel the whole thing. It’s up to the Bradleys and the Reverend to help their community see the Christmas story and the Herdman kids through new eyes in this joyous musical adaptation of the funny and touching holiday classic. Additional info: Please prepare a 24-bar song (no longer please) in the style of the show. Bring sheet music – one-sided copy – in a binder. There will be an accompanist that will play your selection for you. Arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled audition time. Everyone will sing (in order of arrival.) Be prepared to stay until 10 PM if asked. You must be available for EVERY technical rehearsal (Friday before opening through Preview Night) and EVERY performance to be cast in this show. All people auditioning will be asked to fill out an audition information sheet attached for the auditions. Directors prefer you print the form out in advance, complete it, and bring it with you to the audition, if possible – this will make your check-in process go much faster. Children auditioning for this show should have at least 1 year of acting classes and/or on-stage experience. Rehearsals may last until 10 p.m. – especially during tech week. If cast, children will be expected to attend all rehearsals as scheduled. First Rehearsal: October 10, 2023 Tech/Dress: November 25-29, 2023 Performances: November 30-December 17, 2023 If interested, please apply.
