Kids & Teens Sought for "Scrooge!" The Musical
The directors are in search of children and teenagers for the musical "Scrooge!". Kindly refer to the details provided below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: In 1970, renowned writer/composer/lyricist Leslie Bricusse adapted Charles Dickens’ tale A Christmas Carol into a hit screen musical Scrooge, and in 1992 he adapted it into a full-scale stage musical. Keeping the original songs, including the Academy Award-nominated “Thank You Very Much”, this rousing stage version includes six new songs. Scrooge! The Musical tells the timeless story of redemption and love through a beautiful musical score and heartwarming drama. Rate: All roles are considered volunteer positions and are uncompensated. Additional info: Callbacks at the discretion of the director on September 27. Performance Dates: December 1,2,8, 9, 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m. December 3, 10, and 17 at 2:30 p.m. Prepare and bring 32 bars of a song that showcases your vocal range and storytelling ability. Please bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. Be prepared for cold readings from the script. Familiarity with the show and its characters is highly recommended. Rehearsals will be held Sunday afternoons/evenings and Monday through Thursday evenings. Theatre background checks all participants. What to Bring to Auditions Please prepare 32 bars of a musical theater song in the style of Scrooge! The Musical. An accompanist will be provided. Bring sheet music in the appropriate key with start and stop markings for the accompanist. A list of any known or anticipated conflicts during the rehearsal period. Every role is important and it is crucial that participants be present at their rehearsal time and arrive on time. A resume (if you have one) or a list of any relevant theater-related experience; A headshot of recent photos that the directors can keep is not required but is very helpful.
