Female Child Actors Needed for New Hisotrical Play
In 1814, one fearless woman risked everything and battled the Watervliet Shaker community to reclaim her children from their control. A gripping drama based on the life of trailblazer Eunice Chapman, Movers and Shakers recounts Chapman’s epic struggle against her husband, Mother Lucy Wright, the Albany legislature and New York State law, in a time and place when women had virtually no rights and no say. Tackling religious freedom, marriage, women’s rights, parental rights, politics and history, Movers and Shakers brings to life story of a local upstate heroine who caused riots and changed the law. WE NEED YOU! AUDITIONS! Send yourself speaking a short dramatic monologue tape by June 11th. Rehearsals are held in the evenings Mon-Thurs from July 10th to the performance date of August 11th & 12th. However because the children are not in all of the scenes they will not be required for this duration. On average 12 evenings of total involvement.
