Fried Chicken or Mayonnaise? - Short Film
“Fried Chicken or Mayonnaise?” is a short film written and directed SIFF award-winning filmmaker Bogui Adjorlolo, about a mix-raced kid named Michael on his first day at a new middle school. Under pressure to make friends, Michael must choose between trying to fit in with the black kids or the white kids, even though he doesn’t have very much in common with either group. After days of being torn between two opposite identities, Michael loses his mind.

A quiet, awkward, and nervous, MIXED-RACE (Black and White) middle schooler trying to figure out where he fits in an unfamiliar environment. He has a white mom from Spokane, Washington, and an African father from The Ivory Coast. Unless he's focused on something, he's never really sure what to do with his hands. His "comfort-zone" is uncomfortable, so to speak.
