"School of Rock" Musical is looking for kids ages 10 and above. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: School of Rock tells the story of Dewey Finn, a washed-out rocker looking to fulfill his lifelong dream of “making it”. Fortune finds him when he gets the opportunity to work as a substitute teacher at a prestigious school. There, he discovers that his straight-A students can really jam! With a little work, he turns them into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. All he has to do is figure out how to sneak the kids to the battle of the bands before he gets found out! Based on the hit movie of the same name, Andrew Lloyd Webber brings the high energy of this story to the big stage for an unforgettable production. Additional info: Please prepare 16-32 bars of a song in the style of the show that shows off your range. Please bring sheet music— an accompanist will be provided. INSTRUMENTAL If auditioning for a role that requires playing an instrument on stage, in addition to the vocal audition, please prepare 16-32 bars of an instrumental solo in the style of the show. Please also bring your own guitar, bass, or drumsticks, as applicable. An amp and drum kit will be provided. Those playing keyboards are also encouraged to bring their own instrument, but a digital piano will also be available. Those auditioning will be expected to perform a brief dance routine that will be taught at the beginning of the dance call. PERFORMANCE DATES: August 10-13 and 17-20, 2023.
