About the project: Produced nationally and internationally, Little Women has been praised by critics for its ambition in adapting such a well-known story for the stage. This timeless, captivating story is brought to life in this glorious musical filled with personal discovery, heartache, hope and everlasting love. The original production starred the unparalleled Sutton Foster, who received Tony, Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk nominations for her performance. Based on Louisa May Alcott's life, Little Women follows the adventures of sisters, Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March. Jo is trying to sell her stories for publication, but the publishers are not interested – her friend, Professor Bhaer, tells her that she has to do better and write more from herself. Begrudgingly taking this advice, Jo weaves the story of herself and her sisters and their experience growing up in Civil War America. Little Women embodies the complete theatrical experience, guaranteeing a night filled with laughter, tears and a lifting of the spirit.The powerful score soars with the sounds of personal discovery, heartache, and hope – the sounds of a young America finding its voice. Additional info: Bring a completed copy of the audition form, a headshot, and a resume (if available). Extra printed forms will be available on the day of auditions if needed. If you do not have a headshot, your photo will be taken at the audition. EXPECTATION and PREPARATION: Auditions will be an open call and will consist of singing a prepared 32-bar selection in the style of the show. Actors will be seen in order of their sign-in. Please Provide Sheet Music...no CDs & NO A CAPPELLA auditions. An accompanist will be provided. List of any known rehearsal conflicts from July 3rd – August 20th. Invited Callbacks will be held on Saturday, May 13th from 12:30pm – 4:00pm. You will be notified via email by May 8th, if you are invited to callbacks.
